" The community development work is the source of the economy and the true sovereignty of the country because it allows us to concretize the win-win and give-and-take partnership "; this was stated by the Right Honorable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe, President of the National Assembly during the community development work of Saturday, May 13, 2023 that he carried out in Mwaro province.
In the company of parliamentarians elected in the province, the Rt. Hon. Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe joined the population during the work of collecting rubble that will be used for the foundation of the Olympic stadium of Mwaro located on the Gatare hill in Gisozi commune.
With an estimated cost of BIF 18 billion, the construction project of the Olympic stadium of Gisozi started in June 2022. It is expected that this masterpiece will be the second largest stadium in Africa, after the Eldorade Stadium in Kenya. The Right Honorable Speaker of the National Assembly therefore invited the population to be strongly involved in the construction of that public infrastructure that will make the country proud. "If today we have distinguished visitors who come to Burundi, it is because the country has a good image, it is for the recovered peace and security, it is because the country is being built," he continued.
At a time when the Mwaro province is known for its endless trials, the Right Honorable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe gave advice to the population: "Do not fight anymore for the meaningless things of this world, which are only dust. Rather, seek to prepare for a good end, by learning to ask for and give forgiveness."
Forgiveness being the condition that brings peace to the heart, the Right Honorable Speaker of the National Assembly asked everyone who has useful information to entrust it to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission for the best outcome of its mission, which is to bring out the truth in view of an effective reconciliation, through forgiveness.
