"Let us strive to give little consideration to earthly possessions". This noble advice was given by the Right Honorable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe, Speaker of the National Assembly, during the community development work (CDW) which took place on Saturday, March 18, 2023, on Songa hill, in Gitega province as part of the revitalization of such works as recommended by the Head of State. These works consisted of the cleaning out of the gutters of the RN8.

At the end of the works, the Speaker of the Lower Chamber of Parliament focused his speech on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the good news about Burundi that have been unfolding continuously since the beginning of the year 2023, thanks to the Lord.

Regarding the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), he recalled that Burundi has had a painful past but it is high time to clarify the truth. He urged the population to be armed with the courage to ask for and grant forgiveness when the time comes. Even if it is difficult, he added, it would be ideal to take as an example the unconditional love of God who so loved the world that he gave his begotten Son as a ransom, Jesus Christ who interceded for us so that we could be forgiven in spite of the condemnation inflicted by us in an unjust way.

As for the good news, Right Hon. Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe welcomed the appointment of H.E Evariste Ndayishimiye to high office and the unfailing trust placed in him at the level of the sub-region and Africa in particular, an eloquent sign that God the Almighty is continuously elevating Burundi. These are long awaited divine promises, he reiterated.
