The National Assembly joined the family of the late Honorable Pierre Claver Niyubahwe on September 27, 2022, during the burial ceremonies of the deceased. After the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Right Honourable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe had paid the last tributes to the late Honorable Pierre Claver Niyubahwe along with members of parliament, friends and others at Hôpital Roi Khaled de Kamenge, his First Deputy Honorable Sabine Ntakarutimana proceeded to the requiem mass celebrated at the Grande Chapelle du Saint Esprit and the funeral of the late Honorable Pierre Claver Niyubahwe at the Mpanda cemetery.
The biography of the deceased was presented by the Secretary General of the National Assembly, Mrs Jeanne Chantal Harerimana.
On behalf of the National Assembly, Hon. Sabine Ntakarutimana, conveyed that the late Hon. Pierre Claver Niyubahwe manifested his attachment to his native commune Gatara until the population placed its trust in him by elevating him to the position of Chairperson of the Communal Council in 2020.
Moreover, his affection was not limited to his commune alone, but to the entire nation. For this reason, he gave himself body and soul to serve Burundi. This is justified by his actions within the CNDD-FDD party from the time of the struggle for the restoration of democracy in the bush until he became the provincial secretary of the party from 2006 to 2012. He drew his last breath as a Member of Parliament.
For almost two years that he served in the National Assembly, the late Honorable Pierre Claver Niyubahwe, as a MP, was well enough known.
In character, the deceased was humble, and listened to everyone without underestimation; he always sought good cohabitation with his neighbors and worked in harmony with his colleagues.
He was well known in the National Assembly, worked assiduously and was fearless in expressing his opinions. Undoubtedly, we deduce that Hon. Pierre Claver Niyubahwe greatly adhered to constructive ideas. It is for this reason that the National Assembly deeply regrets having lost a man of value.
In his biological and political family, including his neighbours, everyone says that the late Honorable Pierre Claver Niyubahwe was a courteous man, loved by all his entourage from where he held so many eminent positions.

Honorable Sabine Ntakarutimana implored the neighbours, friends of the family and those who have a good heart, without forgetting the natives of the Gatara commune and even of Kayanza Province, to remain close to this family so that the children of the late Honorable Pierre Claver Niyubahwe grow up and live easily by benefiting from a solid education that will enable them to follow in the footsteps of his father in the edification of our country.

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Sabine Ntakarutimana concluded by expressing her deep condolences to the family and friends of the late Hon. Pierre Claver Niyubahwe.
“We express our sincere condolences to his wife and children whom he leaves in distress, we promise you that we will always remain close to you. God had lent him to us and he has taken him back. May God the Almighty and merciful welcome him into his vast paradise.”
