The vision of H.E. the President of the Republic of Burundi is in the hands of God. Anyone who opposes it will face the wrath of God.
These words were articulated by the Right Honorable Speaker of the National Assembly when he joined the faithful of the Church of the Rock of Burundi to celebrate the Sunday service on September 11, 2022. In the warm reception, Rev. Pastor Denise BUCUMI, welcomed him while asking the Lord to bless him abundantly.
Besides the presence of the Rt. Honorable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe, there was another distinguished guest, the Bishop and preacher of that day, Josephine Kitonga who came from Kenya. The theme was "Lord, change my name", a theme that had its basis in the Bible verses from the books of 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, Genesis 17:15-16 and Genesis 32:26-28.
During her preaching, these passages unveiled that a person’s name can affect his or her destiny. Thus, the preacher invited parents to give so much importance and attention to the names they give to their children. She added that every man is the master of his destiny. She concluded by reiterating that despite a person’s origin, family background, community of origin, and level of education, his or her destiny can change if he or she decides to ask it insistently from God.
On the basis of this message, the Speaker of the National Assembly mentioned two major aspects that marked the period of the struggle for democracy in the rebellion: the period of relying on human forces without involving God, and the period of relying essentially on God by keeping Him in the first place, which led the belligerents to victory that brought peace to Burundi up to now. "It is for this reason that we work while praying and we pray while working because nothing is possible without God," he added.
The Rt. Hon. Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe returned to the vision of H.E. Major General Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi, which is to fight against poverty, ensure the development of the people, consolidate community solidarity which together constitute the pillar of social cohesion, justice and sustainable peace.
To conclude his speech, the Right Honorable Speaker of the National Assembly reminded that the vision of His Excellency Major General Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi is in the hands of God and that anyone who opposes it will face the wrath of God.
