The Right Honorable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe proceeded on Wednesday June 30, 2021 to the closing of the ordinary parliamentary session of April 2021.

As for the control of the governmental action, the Prime Minister came to present to the Parliament gathered in Congress the assessment of the implementation of the governmental program for the first semester of the fiscal year 2020-2021. In addition to the visits carried out by two committees, the National Assembly also followed the swearing-in of two new members of the Government in the presence of His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic and the Parliament gathered in Congress. In addition, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Burundi and the President of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (CNIDH) presented the achievements of the institutions they lead.

Within the framework of solidarity, a very high delegation of the National Assembly visited the localities of Kinyinya and Gatumba, in the commune of Mutimbuzi, in the province of Bujumbura, which were victims of the floods caused by the rise of waters of Tanganyika lake and Rusizi river. As a result, many people have become homeless. The National Assembly has therefore made a gesture of solidarity by granting them aid consisting of food and non-food items for over 1,400 households. In addition to this assistance, the National Assembly also conveyed a message of support and comfort to them. It also urged them to respect all the measures of the Government, especially with regard to their relocation.
Guests from different backgrounds including members of the Government, men in uniform, representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps accredited in Bujumbura, had participated in these ceremonies.
