The Speaker of the National Assembly of Burundi attended the ceremonies for the 33rd anniversary of the National Unity Charter at Bujumbura Mayorship, February 5, 2024.
Under the theme "Twubake Uburundi tugize urunani" ("Let’s build Burundi in solidarity"), the Right Honorable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe, Speaker of the National Assembly, delivered the keynote address on behalf of H.E. Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi.
It is important to emphasize that it is impossible to modify the Charter of National Unity, or even to question a single article of it. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly during the speech for the occasion.
The ceremonies were also attended by the Mayor of Bujumbura and the governors of of Cibitoke, Bujumbura and Bubanza provinces, following the new administrative restructuring of Bujumbura province. To achieve the reassuring destiny of an emerging country in 2040 and developed in 2060, the unity of Burundians is a foundation on which to build the walls of this vision.
