The price of a Kg of rice is 3,700 BIF, while on the other side of the Kanyaru, it is estimated at 4,000 FRW. Rwandan money is three times stronger than the Burundian franc. So, one Kg of rice normally costs 12,000 Burundian francs therein. Under these conditions, which currency is stronger? Of course, it is the Burundian currency!
Another proof is that Burundians consume what they produce and not the dollar.
